    European Travel Kit

Before starting your journey be sure to pack a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, warning triangle, headlamp beam benders/deflectors and spare lamp bulbs. These are required by law in many countries and are advisable in any case.
GE Commercial Finance Fleet Services offer a European Travel Kit which contains all of these items, and more, and is available from our supplier Automotive Carpets by calling 01625 502668 or faxing your order on 01625 502815. We can also supply items such as a fire extinguisher or warning triangle individually, at negotiated rates.

    GB Sticker
You require a GB sticker on the back of any UK registered motor vehicle, caravan or trailer which you use on roads abroad. One is included free in our Travel pack.

    VE103
Wherever you need to travel in Europe it is mandatory to carry a Vehicle on Hire Certificate (VE103), and in some cases a letter of authority from GE Commercial Finance Fleet Services. This is authorisation for you to take the vehicle identified on the form overseas. It also covers you whilst proceeding to, and returning from, the port of embarkation. This is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and will cover you for all your foreign travel within that 12 month period.

    Green Card
Ensure that your International Motor Insurance Certificate (Green Card) covers you for European or International Travel. If not, please obtain a Green Card from your company's Insurance provider.
If travelling to Spain you will require a Spanish bail bond. Please contact your company’s insurance provider to obtain this.

    Customers Regulations
The vehicle must be for your own personal use and not be left abroad, lent or hired to anyone else, sold or otherwise disposed of, without consent from the Customs Authority of the country you are visiting. Furthermore, the vehicle can remain in the country visited for a maximum of 6 months (12 months in some countries).

    The RAC European Motoring Assistance
Further cover is required to be taken out for any light commercial vehicles, caravans or trailers. These and other benefits are available with the RAC for which an application form can be obtained by calling 08457 125594. ( For more information - Click here)

Please do drive safely and we hope that you have a pleasant journey
